RedBlack is a software development company founded in York, England, by managing director Jane Tyler in 1998. We design bespoke applications for customers in the food industry and in other sectors such as health and safety, NHS management and online learning. We also offer a full range of support, training, web development and e-business services.

One of the company’s first successes was taking on an application that had proved popular with commercial bakers. The program was rechristened as Cybake and became the subject of a constant development process that continues to this day and is carried out in close consultation with our users.
RedBlack Software managing director Jane Tyler is the vice chair of the British Society of Baking, which was founded in 1955 as an affiliate of the American Society of Bakery Engineers.
Its purpose is to provide a forum for learning more about the industry through conferences and events, together with networking and the exchange of ideas between members. RedBlack Software is an official associate member and we attend both of the BSB’s key conferences each year.
Building on our success to date, we are now working to secure funding to help us unlock the social, therapeutic and employment opportunities offered by making Real Bread by hand. In this we aim to help people facing social exclusion due to a range of factors that might put them at a disadvantage, including living with mental health issues or physical disabilities.
