Nancy and her two amazing children, Zak and Hollie, recently returned to her home town of Ilkley, after spending 5 years living in Dubai. During her time there she enjoyed regular practices in Pilates and Yoga. "She loved the whole mind and body connection, the way she felt physically and mentally strong after each class ". So, taking things to the next level Nancy decided to become a teacher, and took her Pilates Mat1 & 2 training with Balanced Body. Not long after, she was introduced to the Booty Barre Method (a fusion of Pilates, ballet, dance and yoga) "Nancy was hooked"! She completed her teacher training with the founder of bootybarre Tracey Mallett and continues to study under her keeping her training fresh and up to date. Nancy is a certified Booty Barre instructor, Pilates mat instructor, Seated Acupressure practitioner and qualified in Reiki level 1 and 2 and hopes to become a Reiki master within time. To add to Nancy’s creative side, she enjoys making her own luxury natural scented candles under the label of Pure Candles, which are available to buy at the Yoga Barre and Wellness Centre.
Lucy has had a love of yoga for many years but found it hard to have a regular practice due to the lack of accessible studios, work commitments and relocation. In 2007 Lucy moved to Amsterdam with her partner at the time and there she rekindled her love of yoga. Practicing Bikram yoga regularly in a room heated to 104 degrees. The following year Lucy made an even bigger leap which took her to the Middle East. With a history of make-up artistry and cosmetics Lucy saw a gap in the market for natural and organic skin care products and set up her own cosmetic distribution company in Dubai. Distributing the world’s first carbon neutral skin care range ‘’Snowberry beauty’’ into Harvey Nichols, amongst other high end luxury stores. During this time Lucy found Zen Yoga where her love of yoga continued…only this time it really blossomed and in fact went full circle. Lucy religiously practiced and studied vinyasa flow for over 2 years with two of Dubai’s renowned teachers, Laura Weston and Cheryl Parsons, who play a big part in who Lucy is as a teacher today. Finally, Lucy followed her dream and took her yoga teacher training in Bali in 2012, and is a 200hr registered teacher with Yoga Alliance. The following month Lucy then became a teacher in her own right working at Zen Yoga, Motion Fitness Centre and teaching privately. Teaching Vinyasa Flow, Yogalates and Pilates, which then led onto the bootybarre teacher training course with the founder, Tracey Mallett in October 2013. Lucy has since attended workshops with worldwide renowned yogis such as Kathryn Budig and Mary Dana Abbott. Lucy also looks forward to continuing her journey of learning, growing and sharing all she has learnt with those who also share a love of yoga & fitness. Lucy is also qualified in seated acupressure and Reiki level 1. Off the mat Lucy love’s coffee, cake and red wine but not all together!
