Caltours of Birmingham Ltd. was formed in 2003 by David Calver who remains its owner and director. We operated our first day excursion in May 2004 with a trip to Tissington Well Dressing in Derbyshire. In the first couple of years the company operated a number of day excursions aimed at the individual traveller and quickly started to gain a loyal clientele.
As time has gone by the company has stayed faithful to the day excursion programme, but has also expanded into running the occasional short break holiday. The first holiday took place in June 2006 and was based at the Petworth Hotel, formerly the officers mess of the Dam Buster Squadron. The theme of the holiday was "The Dam Busters". The following year saw holidays to the Lake District and Gardens of the New Forest and in 2008 we had a visit to the Isle of Wight, a themed TV destinations tour in Yorkshire and a pre-Christmas visit to the Eden Project. In addition to providing services for the individual traveller Caltours of Birmingham Ltd also provide a range of options for groups who wish to travel together. They range from simply arranging the travel through to carrying out the full organisation of any particular trip.
