Our company

We are a Nottingham firm of cost lawyers and draftsmen dealing with all aspects of between the parties and legal aid costs.

Both Directors have over 25 years of costing experience and were Associates of the former Association of Law Cost Draftsmen. Patrick Rabbitte is a Cost Lawyer with extensive advocacy experience and rights of audience. The company has a strong commitment to on-going professional development and all employees are fully conversant and up to date with the rapidly changing face of costs.

We have a diverse client base covering all areas of law; we undertake work for firms throughout the UK and even Northern Ireland.

We are one of the preferred suppliers to the biggest legal aid franchised firm in the UK, with around 30% of our case load relating to publicly funded costs. This is a rare commodity in the ever declining and less lucrative legal aid market, with a recent survey of Cost Lawyers indicating that only around 25% were still involved in legal aid. Some of our team were extensively involved with the CCMS pilot scheme and we are now regularly using the on-line billing system.

Dickinson & Rabbitte Limited was established in Nottingham in 1994 by the two Directors, Amanda Dickinson and Patrick Rabbitte. Initially operating from Amanda’s spare room the company has grown from strength to strength and now has an extremely experienced team of Cost Draftsmen, the vast majority of whom have been with the company since the early days.

We are a thriving and busy practice, constantly attracting new clients through personal recommendation. We pride ourselves on being very approachable and helpful as a company; we are always happy to advise on any costing issues, by telephone or in person, and to tailor our services to meet any particular requirements you may have. This includes working in-house should this be your preference, to dealing with paperless files.
