I have spent the last 20 years recruiting for a wide range of clients across the North West region. In 2008 I took some careers advice myself from a client who suggested I should set up my own business and founded Dickson O’Brien Associates with Maria.

I get immense job satisfaction from doing our job well, and the feedback we get from our candidates and our clients. Running our own business gives us the freedom to operate outside the restrictions of KPI’s and ensures we deliver a personal service with a successful outcome.

I hope our clients and candidates would say we are refreshingly honest. It is a quality I feel genuinely passionate about and one I am always conscious of whatever level I am recruiting at. My genuine motto is ’treat people as you would want to be treated if you were looking for a role’ I hope our testimonials prove this is the case!

In my role as Office Manager I take care of the back office functions for Dickson O’Brien keeping on top of the “nitty gritty” details of our business and helping Bev and Maria to provide the honest, personal service that we pride ourselves on.

Bev & Maria helped us fill a key senior finance position. Following an assessment of the assignment brief and a chat to talk through, they quickly provided an excellent choice of candidates that with their input we whittled down to five interviews. Following the interview process, it was ultimately not an easy decision to choose between the three we thought were strongest – a nice problem to have!
