ABOUT FREEMAN CLINICS LIMITED

Following an update in July about the GP practice based at Ponteland Road Health Centre, we wanted to provide you with further information on the future of the practice.

Earlier this year, we launched a public consultation giving patients the opportunity to have their say on how services are provided by the practice.

This means we would conduct an exercise to secure a provider to deliver a service for the patients currently registered at Ponteland Road Health Centre. All patients would automatically transfer to the provider of the new contract, or patients could choose to register with an alternative practice.

The results of the consultation have informed our plans for the future of the practice, and at a meeting held in public on 31 October 2017, the NHS Newcastle Gateshead Clinical Commissioning Group’s Primary Care Commissioning Committee

We will now conduct an exercise to secure a provider to deliver GP services from 01 April 2018.

Patients will automatically transfer to the provider of the new contract and can continue to be seen at the health centre. Patients who are unhappy with the decision may choose to register with an alternative local practice.
