ABOUT STELMAX LIMITED

Built on groundbreaking scientific discoveries in the 1950s by physicist Bill Martin, the system for bonding plastics to steel with maximum adhesion or STELMAX has developed over more than forty years under the companies charismatic leadership of Mrs Pat Martin.

Supplying paints and pastes for encapsulating and protecting steel sheet in the 1970s, Stelmax has grown working in a broad range of industries. Following alongside the introduction of the uPVC window to the UK, it became apparent that the properties of our adhesive and vinyl technology were ideal to be adapted as a sealant for use within the window unit and also to provide a seal between the frame and the surround.

Our products are used at both factory assembly and fabrication stages but also during installation.The company has now developed to be the leading supplier of specialist sealing products to the uPVC/ vinyl window industry not only in the UK, but also with an ever growing export presence we are now distributing our products worldwide.

Why you should use STELMAX

The main advantages with using Stelmax sealants are that they cure by solvent evaporation, leaving a smooth polymer surface.

Silicon sealants are completely different products and the two should never be confused. Silicons cure by absorbing water, most commonly in the form of atmospheric moisture. During this absorption the seal will attract any dust and dirt, but more importantly, the micro-porous nature of the surface left on the seal after it has cured will discolour more quickly exposed to any dust or particulate and can provide a home for bacteria, moulds and fungus.
