Jane has been an independent consultant since 2008. She has her own company, Jane Kettle Consulting Ltd, and works primarily with Jay Consulting. She started her career in housing working in London before moving into higher education in Leeds. In 2004 Jane became Associate Dean and Head of School of the Built Environment at Leeds Metropolitan University developing professional and vocational programmes in the sector, working with employers and professional bodies. Jane’s extensive expertise is in quality assurance, and the development, assessment and accreditation of vocational and professional programmes to meet the needs of employers. Jane held fractional posts at the Higher Education Academy as Senior Adviser, Employability and Employee Learning, and then Discipline Lead for Built Environment. She is an Associate with the Higher Education Academy, Skills for Health, the Chartered Institute of Housing and MELA social enterprise. She is Executive Officer/Treasurer for the Council of Heads of Built Environment Education (CHOBE) and a member of the Chartered Institute of Housing’s Yorkshire and Humberside Regional Board.

A Research Fellow and the University of Leeds, he is a social science researcher with over 15 years’ experience in the social housing sector and over 10 years’ experience in the charitable sector. With skills in quantitative and qualitative techniques and a pragmatic approach to identifying service improvements, he is a strong advocate of customer-focussed evidence-led decision making.
He has substantial experience of delivering service reviews, tenant scrutinies and business improvement projects. He is currently completing a PhD at Leeds University Business School on service quality in English housing associations Simon is Chair of the Regional Research Forum for Yorkshire and Humberside, a Fellow of the Chartered Institute of Housing, a member of the Housing Studies Association, and an associate member of LARIA.
After completing a geography degree and PhD at the University of Cambridge, she was Head of Research for a firm of surveyors in London. During that time, she helped to set up and run the Society of Property Researchers.
