We are a 1st4Sport Qualifications Recognised Centre, a former Beacon Award winning team for Sport in the Curriculum and now working in partnership with Volleyball England on the Coach Core Programme as part of Team Manchester.
With over 20 years’ experience in Sports Development, Training and Education, we use our knowledge, skills and experience to deliver sports programmes in and around the City of Salford and Greater Manchester areas. Our philosophy of Play/Train/Achieve is used to incorporate sport and physical activity into our programme delivery to promote and aid learning.
Sport is an excellent way to engage young people and we continue to aim, run and deliver our philosophy of Play/Train/Achieve. We will use sport participation to encourage and support young people, the community and the hard to reach and disadvantaged groups to;
to increase the habit of life-long sport participation and to advance the health and quality of life in the local community, we aim to raise and further develop the awareness of the importance of physical activity as part of healthy lifestyles. Through our partnership with Volleyball England, we are running satellite clubs at school venues across the City. This links into Volleyball England’s remit for increasing Volleyball participation from primary school through to club level. A ‘Get into Boxing’ programme, based at The Swinton High School, is available for young people to take part in introductory boxing and fitness sessions.
to increase the attainment of relevant industry and employability skills, we support and develop access to employment and/or progression to further learning. Through the delivery of relevant education and training, we develop beneficial social and employability skills. We use different sports and activities as innovative learning and assessment mechanisms. This provides opportunities that further engage and enable outstanding achievements and improvements in attaining valuable work and life skills. As a member of ‘Team Manchester’, we are part of Coach Core Apprenticeship Programme. This is a new, innovative and exciting Coaching Apprenticeship, targeting young people who wish to gain further education and employment in sport. Coach Core is a project founded by The Royal Foundation of The Duke and Duchess of Cambridge and Prince Harry.
over the years we have run successful Sports Programmes across numerous sports including Football, Volleyball, Rugby League, Cricket, Boxing, Snooker and Sports Reporting. For three seasons Sports Group Managing Director Phil Arbelo-Dolan ran the Salford City FC Youth team, resulting in two consecutive promotions in the North West Youth Alliance League and won the Manchester County FA U18’s Cup. HRH, the Earl of Wessex praised our Sports Reporters programme and projects that we were involved in.
