Belka Productions is a UK based production and general management company, headed by producer Oliver King & director Oleg Mirochnikov.
We facilitate international companies looking to present their work in the UK, specialising in Russian and Eastern European productions.
In house, we create bold, physically expressive and imaginative productions, employing a collective of experienced European theatre practitioners.

Following a career in fashion industry, Ekaterina retrained as an art historian, completing her Masters in Contemporary Art at Glasgow University. The "Sovremennik Season" was her first theatrical project where she acted as Production Coordinator and the Sponsor's Representative. She now works at Belka Productions and is a partner on our Russian projects.
Grant began his theatrical career as an Actor in 2010 and later trained at Drama Centre London. He has worked with multiple theatre and opera companies as a Producer and General/Production Manager, facilitating plays, operas, concerts and album launches. Grant has been the Associate Producer for Wild Yak Productions since January, firstly managing
(Sadler's Wells, Edinburgh – Pleasance at EICC). He then worked with Wild Yak/Belka Productions on The

Why is the company called Belka Productions and how did it begin?
Belka was one of the first Russian dogs in space, following in the footsteps of her predecessor Laika, and was launched from Russian mission control on August 19th 1960. She was the first dog to actually orbit and return alive. The company is named in her honour, and we hope to continue her pioneering and groundbreaking work, albeit in 'The Arts'. The company was formed by Rosy Benjamin, Oliver King and Oleg Mirochnikov in 2011.

Like the majority of theatre companies in the UK, our actors are on fixed-term contracts. For each new production casting will be announced via Spotlight, and on our website. Please do not send unsolicited CV's, and if applying for a role please make sure you fit the character description.
