Zeeshan begun his career in financial crime working on one of the largest transformation projects in the city. Zeeshan is a strategic thinker with proven ability to deliver innovative and effective solutions that positively impact business performance. He has designed and implemented, process improvements, strategies, operating models and governance on a number of global investment banking projects. As part of his roles within global banks he was able to study for his ACAMS making him a Certified Anti-Money Laundering Specialist. With this very unique skill set he was able to encompass all he had learned within the banking sector and ensure Yielders minimises its risk profile and aligns to all FCA requirements. A keen interest in property development has ensured he was able to develop stringent and compliant processes within the Yielders operating model. His overall objective is to ensure continued development of the platform and aid in identifying investment opportunities for all Yielders!
Jason is a San Francisco-based technology entrepreneur who thought there should be a better way for startups and SMEs to raise money. He co-authored the crowdfund-investing framework used in the JOBS Act to legalize securities-based crowdfunding in the US. He and his business partner led the 460-day grass roots campaign to change 80-year-old securities laws in the US. He provided US Congressional testimony twice, and attended the White House, Rose Garden ceremony for President Obama to sign The JOBS Act into law in 2012. His firm has worked in 40 countries to 1) create balanced crowdfunding regulation with governments 2) collaborate with innovators to build the global technology infrastructure required for the new private capital markets 3) invest in companies building that technology infrastructure. CCA is a Partner of the US State Department’s Global Entrepreneurship Program and Entrepreneur in Residence at UC Berkeley. He co-authored the World Bank’s research “Crowdfunding’s Potential in the Developing World”. Jason is also a Venture Partner with Vectr Ventures, a Hong Kong-based fund, investing in FinTech in the US and Asia. He has spoken at The White House, TEDx, South by Southwest, Aspen Institute, Ministry of Economy in Chile, Brookings Institute, Global Entrepreneurship Summit, and appeared on CNBC, BBC, MSNBC, Al Jazeera, WSJ, Bloomberg, Fast Company, Fortune, Forbes, VentureBeat, TechCrunch.
Umer started his career as an auditor within the big 4, specialising in the Real Estate and Construction sector, moving into Operational Risk working for a leading Global Bank, heading up international teams managing risk across different sectors, the most recent in E-commerce ensuring good governance and a robust risk framework is in place to manage large scale digital transformation programmes. In addition Umer has been actively involved in Islamic Finance for the last decade, working with some of the most notable UK scholars on shariah structuring and process reviews. He also sits on the board of the Islamic Council of Europe and heads up their Business Ethics and Finance department. Amongst his other pro-bono roles is as executive manager for UKIFC the industry leading not-for-profit Islamic Finance body where he worked as part of a specialist group that advised the government on offering sharia compliant student loans. He also currently serves as the Finance Editor for Islam21c, a leading Islamic website for Muslims in the West. Umer was recognised for his work in 2016 as "one to watch" in the city by Brummel magazine for not only his work in Islamic Finance but also his role as a member of the Steerco for the Cube Network, an umbrella organisation for professional corporate Muslim Networks and running leadership training for influencers in the city. Umer is a keen advocate for principles based ethical finance and has been quoted in various media globally and is often invited to speak at conferences on related topics.
Abid started his business career in 2005 and has been active in the fields of e-commerce, retail and property for over 10 years. He has been involved in buying, developing and consulting on a number of property deals and has delivered a strong track record of returns for investors. Yielders is the scaling up of what he has been doing for years. Part of Generation X he has seen the impact technology has had on the lives of everyone and strongly believes crowdfunding will change the way many of us invest.
