At Way Forward Counselling we pride ourselves on being a team of counsellors who work closely together to offer a variety of experience, expertise and counselling approaches.
All members of the team are professionally qualified and appear either on the BACP Register of Counsellors and Psychotherapists (
. We adhere to the BACP Ethical Framework for Best Practice in Counselling and Psychotherapy. Great care is taken to provide you with a quality counselling experience which is mindful of your individual and unique needs. We pride ourselves on being an ethical, accountable and professional service which works with all age groups. Gently enabling, empowering, valuing without judgement, and assisting all our clients in finding their own individual way forward.
Collectively we offer an array of different therapeutic styles including Cognitive Behavioural Therapy (CBT), Person Centred Therapy, Creative Therapy (including sandtray) and Integrative Therapy to name but a few. We also work with individuals and couples, and sometimes with the whole family; where different members of the family might work with different members of our team. The confidentiality surrounding every individual is carefully managed to provide a safe and trusted experience for all.
Way Forward Counselling Services receive counselling, psychotherapy and supervision
Online and Telephone Services are available to support working from a distance; some mix face to face contact with working online or on the telephone. Professional Consultative Supervision referrals are welcome for social work supervision, supervision for helping professionals as well as counselling supervision, psychotherapy supervision, school based counselling supervision, play therapy supervision, supervision for counsellors working with adults, supervision for counsellors working with children and young people.

The opportunity to talk through whatever is going on for you in a private and safe setting, with someone who listens carefully and deeply to your experience. Through a valuing and non-judgemental therapeutic relationship, our Way Forward counsellors aim to provide the space for you to gently heal and discover new possibilities in your life.
Counsellors are trained in different theoretical perspectives and therefore it will be important for you to understand how your counsellor approaches their work, you can ask as many questions as you need to in order to feel reassured by your counsellor's training and approach.
At Way Forward Counselling we do not limit the overall number of counselling sessions you can have. Through regular reviews of your progress, your counsellor will help you to decide how long you might like to attend in order to achieve your individual goals, ultimately the decision of how long to attend will be up to you.
Short term counselling will typically last for 6 - 8 sessions (sometimes less) and be characterised by solution focused or CBT approaches to specific and manageable short term goals.
Long term counselling involves working at emotional depth over a longer period of time, with the intentionality of working through significant life events.
Way Forward aims to invite a sense of peace, safety and trust. We endeavour to make sure that all our client’s understand the counselling process, are valued and their requirements are mindfully understood. We aim to make your experience of counselling a careful, gentle and healing process
The Way Forward Counselling Rooms are situated in the centre of Swansea, are easy to locate and there is parking immediately outside. The location and facilities in the building are also easily accessible to disabled clients. When you arrive, you will find a panel of 'buzzers' on the right hand side as you enter the building. If you have an appointment with Kirsty Bilski then press 'KIRSTY BILSKI', if you have an appointment with another member of the counselling team then press'WAY FORWARD'
Your Counsellor will come to the door and find you.
Being situated on the ground floor enables easy access for disabled clients. There is also a ramp providing access to the main front door from the car park. If you have a disability or any concerns about the setting at all, please contact Way Forward Counselling Services to discuss any concerns you may have, we understand how important it is to feel comfortable in your surroundings. All facilities within the building are suitable for disabled access.
Please make sure you park in one of the 6 spaces in the car park but immediately opposite Swan House, and obtain a parking permit from Way Forward Counselling Services. There is a parking service operating which monitor this car park and can issue tickets if wrongly parked. You will have a permit for the duration of your appointment.
