Wayahead Training was formed in the belief that the Duke of Edinburgh’s Award should be accessible to as many individuals as possible. This includes those who wish to participate in a bronze, silver or gold programme, teachers and other adults who want to set up or support a DofE group or become volunteer assessors and supervisors.
As Wayahead Training has grown, so has the core team. Rob Boyllin joins us as Operations Manager, bringing with him an enormous range of experience of outdoor education, from Birmingham City Council and his time with the Duke of Edinburgh’s Award Central England Regional Office. A qualified mountaineer, mountain bike instructor and canoe coach, Rob is our AAP manager and will oversee the delivery of our DofE programmes and develop some of our coaching courses.
Emily Hutson joins us as our Education Manager. A qualified geography teacher, Forest School leader, and Summer Mountain Leader, she brings a wealth of practical experience to our training, especially our environmental programmes, and ensures that what we offer provides real quality learning outside of the classroom.
You can be confident that any programme undertaken with Wayahead Training will be student focussed, safety conscious and professionally delivered.
Wayahead training is here to enable and teach. We provide safe, fully accredited expeditions, and outdoor learning and leadership programmes.
Wayahead training helps young people develop valuable skills to help them navigate life
We believe in helping young people develop valuable skills to help them navigate life, and we team up with schools to help teachers develop those skills to enable this learning outside of the classroom. With the experienced instructors that we have, you’re guaranteed adventures and education of the highest quality.
