Meeting the future deployment of electric vehicle (EV) charges is a challenging one. DC car chargers can require a large load, therefore as it stands today it’s not as simple as simply wanting a car charger. With a heritage of over 20 years providing electrical contracting services Viridian understands what is required when looking to install EV charging points, before quoting we will provide a feasibility study, identifying any constraints, optimal location and the best solution. Given Viridians connection with the waste industry we are acutely aware of the problems that occur when dealing with waste wood. Viridian has a long heritage in dealing with the environmental issues that arise from operating landfill sites. Over the last twenty years we have developed a number of leachate treatment plants. Whilst leachate treatment will always have its place in certain situations, Viridian also offers a solution that disposes of waste wood on site and the heat produced from our waste wood boilers can be used to evaporate leachate. The latent heat produced from this process is converted into electrical energy via a steam turbine or organic ranking cycle process. This solution clearly deals with waste wood arisings, reduces leachate volumes significantly and produces green electrical energy. This process can drastically reduce rising operational costs on leachate management and waste wood disposal for landfill operators and in turn offer additional revenue by providing an income as a result of exporting the electricity generated.
