Here at The Pattern Principle we are hugely passionate about gorgeous surface pattern design, it's in our blood! With everything from a houndstooth check to a french toile, a vintage botanical print or a retro ogee stripe, we want to be able to offer you it - all sourced from a supply base which prides itself in quality!
This passion originates from a career over the years as Retail Buyer's and Product Manager's for many well-known high street retail chains and their suppliers. "I've bought everything from furnishing fabric, curtains/poles, blinds, cushions and bedlinen, through to developing upholstery, cushions, greetings cards and gift wrap. I've loved being an important part of what the customer buys off the shop shelf to take home….or to be delivered to their door. Who wouldn't enjoy getting paid to go shopping!"
If only life was that simple, it became a way of life, constantly working hard but it was rewarding when you saw your product selections selling. "I've had experiences that I wouldn’t change for the world. I was lucky enough to visit some wonderful places and work alongside some fantastic people. The knowledge, experience and contacts I have made over the years have become invaluable since we launched the business and for that I will always be thankful."
"Following the birth of our two gorgeous children, there has been an ongoing battle to achieve an optimum work life balance. Finally 5 years on I've found it and the penny finally dropped when I realised I could put all of my past experiences into one creative vision, ultimately our product website. Travelling across the world, the daily commute and working long days in the office really didn’t lend itself to family life! So, after a lot of thought, visits to trade shows and discussions with suppliers, www.thepatternprinciple.com was born!" Following on from the huge success of our website, we have now expanded into a bricks and mortar premises in the centre of Holmfirth and children are growing and soon to both be at school so it's time to expand and to realise the dream even further.
We are now,working with a directory of quality brands and our ranges will be expanding to broaden our vision further ultimately offering you more choice, (always the buyer!). We now have an etablished team working together with us in the Holmfirth locality in the shape of a Made to measure soft furnishings specialist, an Upholsterer and a Specilaist wallpaperer, who can cater for your every need. We are so excited to have now expanded into a shop and loving every minute of the journey…it's been a roller-coaster but we definately wouldn’t change it!
