ABOUT ASPIRE HOME CARERS LIMITED

Since 2011, its owner and manager, Roger Waluube, has invested his passion, time and expertise in the business of care into creating a home within a home, and as well as providing full-care long-term retirement accommodation, Pelham House also offers temporary respite care. You can book a trial stay for a retired friend or relative, to experience the Home’s welcoming environment, before committing to a long term care residency

We are keen to involve relatives and friends in joining our wide variety of outings and activities, which we will you tell you about – and keep updated on our website and on Facebook.

Our qualified carers are able and experienced in assisting with any life-saving emergency. And its landscaped gardens with more than two-acres of patios, vegetable plots, fish-pond and space to roam provide an environment to relax, envigorate or contemplate. The Home has a warm, friendly atmosphere and residents are treated as part of our family.

Although known as a home which provides excellent care for the elderly, it is has also built a reputation as a specialist home for the care of early stage dementia.

Pelham House’s Statement of Purpose has been approved by the Care Quality Commission and sets out its aims and objectives.

The Home provides personal care and accommodation for people who need day care, respite, short stay, rehabilitation and long stay accommodation. Pelham House provides residents with a secure, relaxed, and homely environment in which their well-being, independence and comfort are of prime importance.

Pelham House is registered with the Care Quality Commission (CQC), which is the regulator for health and social care services. It has historically gained a good report from the CQC and in March 2014 the Home passed all regulatory requirements, including caring for people safely, staffing, quality of management and treating people with respect.

Pelham House was inspected in February 2016 and was deeply concerned to be given an “Inadequate” rating. The Home has always put caring for its residents at the forefront of what it does and has enjoyed a stable and very experienced workforce for many years. The report highlights how residents and relatives are extremely happy with the care that is provided. However, shortfalls were noted in terms of documentation, medicines management, training and risk management. The Home has taken immediate steps to remedy all of the concerns raised by the CQC and its action plans can be read below. We have also gained an independent review, from RCS Care Consultancy, in May 2016 and this has stated that the Home provides a good service.

Pelham House continues to illicit excellent support from residents, relatives and local health care professionals and we are dedicated towards providing the best care for older people. We hope you will come and visit us and appreciate the hard work and dedication of our staff.

Pelham House has ‘preferred provider’ status with Kent County Council and works closely with the Council to provide the best possible care to clients from a variety of needs and backgrounds. During an inspection, the Inspector noted how:

Pelham House is a member of the National Care Association and the Federation of Small Businesses.

“You are doing an excellent job with my mother, so I will do all I can to support you.”

“When I was faced with having to find a home for my aunt, I visited many establishments around Folkestone. Most were lovely but it wasn’t until I stepped into Pelham that I felt ‘at home’. I was greeted by smiles, I could hear laughter from the conservatory, and I sat and enjoyed the garden while tea and biscuits were brought to me – to me that was home. The staff are always happy to see me or chat when I ring my aunt. You never feel in the way even though they are all busy making Pelham run smoothly.
