Cyber Coach Smart was setup in April 2013 to help increase the activity levels of those not normally inclined towards exercise. The obesity statistics in the UK indicate that the most effective approach to addressing the obesity epidemic is in primary schools, where enjoyment of physical activity can have a life-long effect.
By June 2015 over 2,500 primary schools in the UK and Ireland had paid for a subscription to Cyber Coach Smart leading an estimated 30 million hours of exercise!
Cyber Coach Smart Ltd has been nominated for a GESS (Gulf Educational Supplies & Solutions) Award. As one of four finalists, we are looking forward to seeing if we have won on the 5th March 2014 at the H Hotel Dubai.
The Award is the brainchild of Dr Moneeb Awan, President of Greater Manchester Chamber and PR agency Weber Shandwick, the award was launched to celebrate some of Greater Manchester’s most forward-thinking and dynamic businesses.
Beating off tough competition from over 60 entrants from across the Greater Manchester region, Cyber Coach scooped top prize for its revolutionary system that enables schools to simply and easily deliver a programme of exercise and dance via a life sized virtual instructor, helping them to meet government targets.
The product has taken three years to develop and in that short time it has gone from strength to strength, attracting a number of high profile sporting advocates, including James Cracknell and Zach Purchase.
National Business Award for Innovation
Quick Holdings Ltd, the company behind Cyber Coach, won the National Business Award for Business Innovation in Northern Ireland and the north of England. At an awards ceremony at Beetham Tower in central Manchester, Glen Jones, managing director, scooped the award against tough competition including Marks & Spencer and Yorkshire Water. Mr Jones said:

Coach has become and of course the commercial success we have enjoyed over the last 12 months. Dubbed the “Business Oscars” by Prime Minister, Gordon Brown, the awards attract entries from the public and private sector; from FTSE 250s to thriving entrepreneurial businesses.

Cyber Coach, the interactive coaching and dance mat solution, was the first leisure product ever to be shortlisted for a BETT Award.
The judges review all BETT Award entries based on several criteria which includes design, cost-effectiveness, support of higher order skills and effective learning and teaching styles. On the technical side they are also looking for robust and resilient products and the accessibility that they offer for those with specific needs.
