ABOUT MOMENTS OF LIGHT LTD

Heidi is our CEO and Lead Facilitator. She has many years experience as a coach, therapist, trainer and mediator and is the driving force behind Glint. She has first-hand experience of the benefits of time spent with ponies, having experienced bullying as a young girl and finding solace in their company. 30 years later, she had cause to reflect upon the strength they gave her; the courage to stand up for herself; the wisdom to see that it’s actually ok to be different to everybody else. Now, she takes those experiences and puts them to good use in the Horse Assisted Development programmes she develops and delivers with Glint. Whether it’s leadership and team development, or supporting young and vulnerable people in improving their life chances, Heidi believes that interaction with horses and ponies can and does create real and lasting learning on many different levels.

Married to Jonathan and care-giver to an array of dogs and horses. West Yorkshire born and bred. Two of my great passions in life are creating beautiful "things" and seeing people blossom and grow. My work with Glint [Horse Assisted Development] supports the social and emotional development of vulnerable young people and adults; whilst Glint [Creative] gives me the opportunity to let my imagination come out to play, making art, ornamental pieces and jewellery in glass and fine silver.

As the owner of a company, usually everyone bends to my direction, so being outside my comfort zone with horses happy to eat grass in a field made me realise that my own standard approach doesn't always work and opened up the ideas of what is effective leadership, team work and goals.

One strand of our work makes a real difference to the lives of young, vulnerable and disadvantaged people. We help people deal with bullying, abuse, mental health issues, additional needs, etc. and support them in re-discovering their purpose and direction in life.
