Based on the Harwell Oxford Science and Innovation Campus, Keit spun out of the Rutherford Appleton Laboratory (RAL) in Harwell, England which is managed by the Science & Technology Facilities Council (STFC), one of the seven UK Research Councils and conducts research into particle physics, space science and photon science.
Dan is responsible for leading Keit and builds on over 10 years’ senior management experience in optics and photonics-based technology companies. Previously, Dan was Head of Business Development in Dublin-based nanotech start-up Ntera and has an MSc (Oxon) in Engineering and Economics from the University of Oxford.

Jolyon has significant experience in establishing technology based start-up businesses and managing technical projects, with previous successes in the fields of online drinks quality measurement, and bio-fuels. With a degree in Applied Physics, Jolyon has a technical background in designing optical systems in the infra-red with particular applications in spectroscopy, telecommunications and optical fibre sensing.
Matthew is a Chartered Management Accountant with over 15 years’ experience as Finance Director of various growing businesses. He was CFO of Nucare plc, and after this group of companies was taken over in 2007, Matthew started working with a small number of early-stage technology companies. He has helped these companies raise over £10m of funding to support their growth, providing on-going advice and management services in his capacity as Outsourced Finance Director.
Jim has extensive global business experience having worked in the UK and overseas for 10 years setting up and managing both sales, service and operations, at international scientific companies including Millipore, Waters, Thermo Electron Spectroscopy, Jenway, Visible Genetics, and most recently at NDC Technologies. Jim has a PhD in Analytical Chemistry from the University of Wales at Cardiff (Cardiff University).
Mike Sellers
Mike Sellers has worked for 26 years in global high-tech companies including Siemens Medical in Germany and GE Healthcare in the US. More recently, he provided freelance consultancy for clients such as the Culham Centre for Fusion Energy, Samsung & GE Healthcare. Mike earned his Engineering degree from Cambridge University.
Michael received his PhD in Engineering from Imperial College London during which time he conducted research with Diamond Light Source using high energy X-rays. He has worked on developing processes for high temperature manufacturing of materials and worked in design and production of cryogenic equipment.
David has worked in or served on the board of over fifteen start-up companies since 2000. David is a partner in Longwall Ventures, which manages two investment funds, and is based at the Harwell Campus. David has an MBA from Harvard Business School.
