Keith Bintley Ltd was formally established in 2010, but its heritage stretches far further back.
The principal began his career in costs over 25 years ago when working for a premier London firm of solicitors. Keith built his team from colleagues who were co-directors of a national firm of costs lawyers (Keith was the training director).
The firm aspires to quality, and is ambitious for ‘law costs excellence’. As a result, all fee earners are members of the Association of Cost Lawyers. The Ministry of Justice independently recognised the pivotal role costs lawyers play in modern law when the Association of Costs Lawyers was granted advocacy rights in 2007. Its members are required to undertake rigorous vocational and academic training as well as continuing professional development.
Keith Bintley Ltd’s advocates have been involved in hundreds of hearings, ranging from provincial county court applications to the Privy Council. Particular expertise is in the domain of City work, supplemented by solicitor client disputes – often regarded as the most demanding area of costs law.
The firm is instructed by a number of high profile clients and has been involved in notable cases. On occasion, costs cases have been successfully taken to the Court of Appeal and fee earners have advised on many reported cases.
