We are one of the longest established two way radio providers in the UK, having been trading since 1953. During this time, we have gone from strength to strength, specialising in pushing forwards the boundaries of technologies.
All of the products that we supply incorporate at least a degree of our in-house design and manufacturing. We do this in order to be able to consistently offer our customers better products for less.
Maxxwave was originally formed in 1953 by Tony Jones as a small Independent communications company. Upon finishing his National Service, Tony used his contacts within the MoD to acquire ex-military transmitters, which he then converted to make them suitable for the commercial user.
However by the 1980's, several new technologies started to appear on the market, which had started to make Tonys equipment look dated. Marketing strategies were therefore changed, and Tony decided to focus solely on providing high quality communications solutions to a loyal core of his customers. By doing this he could reduce staffing levels and thereby enter semi-retirement.
It was in 2005 that Tony elected to take full-time retirement, and so the ownership of the company handed over to Samuel Hunt, to take it into the next generation.
Today ownership is split 50:50 between Roland Ashby and Samuel Hunt, and since 2012 the business has operated from a purpose-designed premises in Markfield, Leicestershire. The intention is to organically grow the business, playing upon the unique key strengths of design and manufacture.
