Tomkinson Biomass was established in 2012 to provide financial backing for commercial biomass boiler installations. This allows companies to both save on fuel costs but also reduce their carbon impact without the capital outlay. Tomkinson Heating then survey, design, supply, install and maintain the equipment over its lifetime.
Established in 1951, Steve Tomkinson took over from his father 30 years ago. Originally plumbing and heating, the business rapidly grew to provide a full heating service including repairs. With the introduction of multi-fuel stoves 30 years ago, the business turned into a one-stop shop for heating services for home and industrial purposes. The company moved into its present property in 1986 that had originally been owned by the co-op food stores.
Due to our strong engineering background we have always pushed to be at the leading edge of heating technology. Over the past 10 years, the push for greener heating systems has become a very important part of our business. This has lead us to be one of the North-west specialists in Biomass and solar heating systems.
With 23 current employees including two sons, we are continually expanding our expertise in the heating industry.
