ABOUT PHILIP PURDIE ASSOCIATES LTD
He finally turned from "insurance buyer" to "insurance broker" in 1986 and accepted a directorship of marine broking at a medium-sized Lloyd's Brokers. By 1989, he had accumulated the three ingredients required to set up independently as a Marine Broker – a book of business from loyal Clients, a broad experience to provide a full service to those Clients and a good reputation in the insurance market to place the business – and so began the first incarnation of Philip Purdie Associates Ltd. [PPA].
The business prospered but on 1st November 2012, the partnership split and our Principal reformed PPA which received notification of its full authorisation by the Financial Conduct Authority [FCA] on 12th November 2013, trading under the name of Harbour Insurance, and took up membership of the British Insurance Brokers Association [BIBA] on 10th January 2014.
Our Principal is an Associate Fellow of the Nautical Institute for whom PPA provides a Legal Expenses Insurance for its Members. He also lectures from time to time via his old alumni,
