At Copley Training we believe that First Aid is a life skill and as such is beneficial to everyone, even young children can be taught what to do in the event of an accident or somebody suddenly falling ill. The HSE have removed their governance on training providers so employers will now have a wider choice on which training company they wish to run their courses. All of our training courses are governed and approved by OFQUAL
Following a massive campaign and e-petition after the death of a little girl, Millie, at her Nursery in 2012; the Government will legislate that all child carers and nursery workers will need to have a paediatric first aid certificate in order to work with children. Currently only a proportion of staff have to have received first aid training. This is great news and should mean more staff are confident and competent to help with medical emergencies.
Childcare and education minister Sam Gyimah said that “compulsory first aid training for childcarers was a matter of National Importance and today’s proposals will mean that thousands more staff will be able to respond to emergencies more quickly, making sure parents really can access the very best possible childcare choices for their families.”
