Fantasy Radio started in 1995 as an experiment in radio here in Devizes, Wiltshire. The response from our listeners and local businesses lead to a number of short-term 'RSL' broadcasts on 1386KHz Medium Wave (with reception reports from as far away as Sweden and the Volkswagen factory in Wolfsburg!) and the switch to '

After a short break, Fantasy Radio returned to Devizes in August 2010. Again, the response from our listeners was superb, meaning another short-term RSL broadcast followed in February 2011.
On the 1st April 2011, the UK radio regulator OFCOM began accepting applications for the third round of Community Radio Licenses in the South West. Finally, after 16 years of hard work on short-term broadcasts, Fantasy Radio had the opportunity to apply for a full-time license. On 21st September 2011 we were awarded that license, to broadcast to the town of Devizes full-time on 97FM.
Our strap-line has evolved to become "All About Devizes". And it remains true. Broadcasting from our studios in The Corn Exchange, right in the centre of the Market Place in the town, we are able to get amongst the town we know and love so well. Working closely with the Town Council and local businesses, we're able to provide up-to-date what's on information, great live and local music and so much more.
Fantasy Radio is proud to play great music from across the decades throughout the day, with specialist music programmes every evening; including country, classical, jazz, rock, new music and music from local artists, plus with our links with the Wharf Theatre in Devizes, we will be showcasing local theatrical talent in the Sunday Night Theatre feature.
Test transmissions started on 14th February 2012 at 1pm, and full-time programming commenced at 7am on Wednesday 29th February 2012.

Opportunities at Fantasy Radio
Fantasy Radio has been broadcasting to Devizes and Mid Wiltshire full time since 29th February 2012, and the response from our listeners has been superb.
