Given that the vast majority of asbestos that is found in domestic properties is Chrysotile (white) asbestos, which was delicensed by the HSE in 2006, it is simply not necessary for a licensed Asbestos Removal Company to remove delicensed Asbestos Containing Material (ACM) material any more.

The HSE guidelines confirm that a delicensed ACM can be removed by anyone who is competent to do so, which means that providing the ACM is removed in a controlled and safe environment and disposed of correctly, the removal can be undertaken by a non licensed contractor.

Total Asbestos Solutions Ltd simplifies the process for both the customer and the Insurance Company by using common sense and simple processes that meet with HSE guidelines. All of our Surveyors are P402 Accredited regarding the taking of Samples and all our on site Operatives have received UKATA Registered Category B (Non-Licensable) Asbestos Removal Training which includes Asbestos Awareness training.

Our view is that if a skilled and experienced plasterer can take down and replace a non asbestos ceiling, why can’t they take down an asbestos ceiling after being given all necessary training ? So that’s what Total Asbestos Solutions Ltd did. We took our very successful Claims Validation company (
