ABOUT INDEPENDENT PEOPLE HOMECARE LIMITED

We are very particular about this and we have a vigorous process. Nobody is employed by us unless they meet our strict criteria:

Will my Live in Carer help with caring for my pet?

My mum or dad are very independent but definitely need help. However I am not sure they would like someone living in their home, is this usually a problem?

We hear this from the vast majority of families that we meet. However in the majority of cases within a short time our customers are bonding really well with the Live in Carer and are pleased for the help and the company that they provide. Our team are very good at being discreet and are sensitive to the fact they are living in someone’s home.

We begin by one of our experienced team visiting you at your home, listening carefully to your needs and we then establish a comprehensive assessment of how we can help. We’ll match you with one of our carefully selected and professionally trained carers and once we have introduced you, you’ll have the on-going advice and support from our office team.

You also have the full confidence and knowledge that we are fully regulated and regularly inspected by the Care Quality Commission.

Yes – we can provide you with as much care as you need. For example, if you have just left hospital and need round the clock support while you are recovering - we can help. We can also help with respite care, where we give you or a carer a break.

This is also short-term and temporary live-in care at home – we call this our Respite Care plan. It means we can step in and give you or a carer a break whenever they may need it. As always, we would provide a comprehensive assessment of your needs so that we can simply walk into your home and take over all the responsibility and tasks your carer does on a daily basis.

‘Independent People Home Care’ was established to enable people with care needs to be able to choose to continue to live in their own homes with the support of dedicated professional carers, employed by a company that has been built on the foundation of staff with extensive clinical care experience.

As a provider of Live in Care services we have seen the demand for our high level of

that we provide grow year on year. Every Live in Care package we provide is tailored to meet the individual care needs of people we support. We believe that care is about supporting and caring for people in a way that helps them to still be in control of their life and to be able to make their own informed choices.

To do this we aim to build strong relationships with the people we support and their families, by winning their trust and encouraging the people we support. We are focused on improving the independence of the people that choose our services so that they are able to get the most out of their life.

Over the years we have provided Live in Care services to a wide range of people. We have been commissioned by individuals and families to care for their loved ones, this can be through a combination of funding streams, from privately funded to fully funded by Social Services and the NHS for both Continuing Heath Care and End of life care.

As a provider of care services, we are routinely checked through unannounced visits from the Care Quality Commission (CQC) to ensure that our Service Users and their families are receiving the support from us that they need and deserve.

Care Quality Commission

(CQC) is tasked with making these checks. The CQC talks to our staff, the people we support and their families to get their views and feedback on the care that has been provided.

We are thrilled with our latest CQC report, the latest in a line of only good findings and it was lovely for us to see so many green ticks.

Who we are

We believe that care is about building strong relationships with people, wining their trust and encouraging them to manage and move forward. We are focused on improving the independence our customers so that they are able to get the most out of their life.

To provide and maintain high quality evidenced based care, delivered professionally, that complies with and wherever possible exceeds current legislation, national minimum standards and good practice guides.

To provide care services based upon individually assessed needs by appropriately trained staff, which are committed to valuing and supporting individuals and take pride in their work.

To provide high quality responsive care services to enable the individual to retain independence and choice, with support and reassurance in order to remain at home for as long as they wish.

To ensure the individual and/or their representative are regularly consulted about the care service we provide, and preserve the individuals’ self-respect and dignity through high quality care.

It is important to us that the management team from the office make calls to speak to the the many people who use our services about their satisfaction with the good living in care provided. We also perform spot checks, which are an announced inspection visit to the home to make sure that the standards are the highest they can be and this report is signed by the person being cared for. In addition, we send out both staff and service user surveys to ask about the quality and satisfaction with the service provided.

At any time a review of a person’s care needs can be requested and their care plan updated, this is automatically done when we see changes. At all times people are fully involved in planning their care and making decisions about the care being provided for them. The care plan is often discussed with people’s relatives when making joint decisions in the best interest of people being cared for and consent is sought for this.

Full notes about the care provided are kept in an accessible folder in the home which the service user or their family can review at any time. This folder also has the full care plan along with rich background information which details previous and current hobbies and interests that provides a source of stimulation, good conversation and interesting activities. The folder can also hold a number of other materials, from detailed information sheets and gentle exercise to more clinical forms which can record food and fluid intake along with full risk assessments and complete medical and family contact details for emergencies.
