One Tribe TV is a factual television production company with offices in Bath and Cardiff Bay. Run by award-winning programme makers, Managing Director, Dale Templar and Creative Director, Owen Gay, it provides a hands-on and highly personal service to all its clients. Our Head of Production is the massively experienced Alex Barraki, ex-BBC and head of production at Five. In addition to our core team, One Tribe has the flexibility to build bespoke production teams to match the needs of the broadcaster and the production. We also work with a small number of corporate clients. Wales and the West Country has a world-class pool of top broadcasting professionals covering all aspects of production, whilst we also attract talent from London and further afield.
Dale and Owen were both senior producers at the BBC for over 20 years but have also worked for range of top independent production companies including: Betty, Spark Media, Icon Films, Nutopia and Boundless.
Owen Gay has hundreds of hours of popular and specialist factual shows and series under his belt including many high volume, fast turn-around popular factual series for both the UK and American broadcasters. He is a hands-on creative who works in detail on every stage of a production. Before leaving the BBC he was the Commissioning Editor for The One Show before becoming Head of Popular Factual at Icon Films in Bristol.
Like Dale and Owen, Alex Barraki worked at the BBC for many years. He was also Head of Production at Five before joining the company. Together the One Tribe TV senior management team has worked with some of the most famous names in British television, making prime-time factual programmes for BBC1, BBC2, BBC4, ITV, Channel 4, Five and international broadcasters including Netflix, Nat Geo, Animal Planet, Discovery and in China, CCTV and TenCent.
Recent productions include the second series of the double BAFTA Cymru nominated “Extreme Wales with Richard Parks for BBC1 Wales and BBC 2 network. A 1 X 60′ Everest documentary for BBC Wales & BBC2. This year One Tribe continues making films for The One Show for BBC1 and we are in development with a host of other productions and working closely with a range of on-screen talent.
We have a new Head of Development, Aisling O’Hagan who come with years of experience making popular factual shows. She is joined by Cameron Howells, who is Welsh speaking and developing Welsh language output.

Dale is a highly experienced senior producer who has worked in a wide range of factual genres. She has executive or series-produced numerous international co-productions for UK, US and international broadcasters. As SP she produced the double BAFTA and Emmy award-winning, landmark series “Human Planet” (BBC1/Discovery/BBC Worldwide). In 2011 she won the Royal Geographical Society Cherry Kearton Medal for Natural History Cinematography.
Dale is much in demand as an after-dinner, corporate and motivational speaker where she is able to draw on an extraordinary career spent in Earth’s wild places to talk about human endeavor and endurance and the planet’s inspirational wonders. Her travel writing sees her making regular contributions to The Daily Telegraph newspaper and National Geographic Traveller as well as many other publications. She is co-author of the Human Planet book.
