Ian, based in North London, brings a wealth of experience to the Capital Chartered team. Having qualified as a Chartered Surveyor in 1989, his first post qualification position was alongside Fraser Maldoom at Barnard Marcus Professional, based in Battersea & Mayfair. Since then, he has developed the London region of GA Valuation and Survey (now Esurv), opened and headed the London office of Hockleys (the surveying division of Norwich and Peterborough Building Society) and subsequently dealt with prime properties in Central London as head of the Residential Valuation Department of Mann Smith Chartered Surveyors, based in Whitehall. Ian has more recently been at Kinleigh Folkard and Hayward Chartered Surveyors covering Central, North and North West London including Highgate, Hampstead and Islington, before leaving to join the team at Capital Chartered Surveyors as a Consultant Surveyor.
David, in addition to providing Valuation Consultancy to Capital Chartered Surveyors and Valuers is a Director of Capital Leasehold. A former Head of Lease Extensions & Enfranchisement at John D Wood and subsequently at Friend and Falcke in Kensington and Chelsea, David has over twenty years experience honed in the Prime Central London postcodes of W1, W2, W8, W11, SW1, SW3, SW5, SW7 and SW10. A tough negotiator, he has challenged The Cadogan, Grosvenor and Crown Estates at The Leasehold Valuation Tribunal on The Sportelli Decision, Hope Value and Leaseholders Improvements. David has an Expert Valuer’s knowledge and first hand experience of Leasehold Enfranchisement and Lease Extension legislation and case law. David offers our clients, across London and beyond, the benefit of his experience and expertise which complements our established core business of Building Surveys, HomeBuyer Reports and Valuations in Central, North, West, South, South East and South West London and The Home Counties.
