The Cyclechic Blog
Caz Nicklin started Cyclechic.co.uk in 2008 after a fruitless search for a stylish bike helmet. She started selling Bern Helmets out of her flat in West London but after receiving a delivery of 200 helmets to a one bedroom flat she knew it was time to expand…
Lavinia Smith came on board in 2009 and Cyclechic relocated to an office in London’s cycling mecca, Shoreditch. In 2014, the office moved to Dalston who has a big cycling community too and a source of inspiration.
We continue to expand our range and are always on the lookout for new products to provide the fledgling breed of stylish urban cyclists with the best possible choice.
Championing cycling as an accessible lifestyle choice is integral to our company. We cycle to work, with our kids, on weekends… bikes are part of our daily lives and want to share our love with our customers.
As a small company, we know that we can’t always compete against big corporations but what we offer is the best customer service, making your online experience as easy as possible. We offer advice on any question over email, or the phone for the chatty ones. We treat our customers with respect and efficiency we think everyone deserves.
We apply the same attitude towards our suppliers. Over the years, we have seen some of our little suppliers grow from a kitchen table corner to a full functioning business and it’s given us a great pleasure to be part of their adventure and supported them. A lot of them have been started by women which is also an encouraging fact!
We have been featured in The Times, The Observer, The Guardian, The Evening Standard and Vogue, spreading the Cyclechic message.
The team at Cyclechic have been great. I ended up exchanging the helmet I originally ordered for a different one, and then having to get a different size in the helmet which I ended up with. In the midst of this, I changed addresses and a helmet went missing in the post on its way to me. Despite being a nightmare customer, the Cyclechic team have offered fantastic customer service, and been really prompt and helpful in responding to me and making sure I ended up with the helmet I wanted. Thank-you so much for your hard work; I really appreciate it!
LOVE it, and Cyclechic were helpful, quick to deliver, and accurate in the description. Now I just need the bag in Cognac.
