Euroscript was founded in 1995 by the Screenwriters' Workshop, with the aim of improving the quality of scripts going into production across Europe.
Through training programmes, feedback services and our annual Euroscript Screen Story Competition, as well as masterclasses and partnerships with organisations including The London Screenwriters' Festival, BFI, Kingston University, Birkbeck College, Tampere Film Festival, we support writers of all levels to develop their work.
Euroscript Ltd is registered in England and Wales No: 6369184; registered office: 64 Hemingford Road, London N1 1DB.
Euroscript is run by a team of creative film, radio and TV professionals who are united by their passion for great writing.
In the Noir world, Chandler says, gangsters can rule nations and cities; men who made their money from brothels can own hotels, apartment houses and celebrated restaurants; a screen star may be working for a mob; and “the mayor of your town may have condoned murder as an instrument of money-making.”
5. Manifestos can help creativity
The manifesto shaped the company's output and production methods, and - crucially - its attitude to writers (putting them at the centre of the creative process, rather than seeing them as an unfortunate side-issue).
It has been negotiating better pay and conditions for writers since 1959, and the agreements it has have in place cover key industry bodies including the BBC, ITV and Pact; National Theatre, Royal Court and Royal Shakespeare Company.

The SoA is a trade union for all types of writers, illustrators and literary translators, at all stages of their careers. We have been advising individuals and speaking out for the profession for more than a century. Members receive unlimited free advice on all aspects of the profession, including confidential clause-by-clause contract vetting, and a wide range of exclusive offers. We campaign and lobby on the issues that affect authors and hold a wide range of events across the UK. The SoA also administers grants and prizes to support and celebrate authors at all stages of their careers. We administer a number of literary estates, the income from which helps towards all our work.
