is the standard for environmental management. It also applies to improving resource efficiency and waste reduction to operate cost-effectively. This standard allows us to meet company environmental goals while complying with all applicable legislation.
Any business accepting card payments should be aware of the need to be PCI DSS compliant to process card payments securely. We comply with this area of the standard for taking card payments from customers.
PCI DSS Level 1 as a Service Provider
Level 1 is the highest a service provider can offer. Achieving this allows us to handle and destroy data, on behalf of other businesses, at the most secure level.
In 2008, Shred Station committed itself to protecting the reputations and identities of companies and individuals across the UK, by developing a bespoke confidential data destruction service.
The Shred Station story began in 2008, with a single mobile shredding truck providing local businesses with an on-site shredding service.
We started out with a mission to offer a high-quality, bespoke service, protecting our customers’ identities, reputations and safeguarding the environment at the same time.
Over the years, our mission hasn’t changed – but our company has. We now have multiple plants and a whole fleet of trucks, and our clients include many individual users, UK companies of all types and sizes, plus public-sector and government organisations.
Our state-of-the-art trucks all have sealed bodies, CCTV, comply with Euro 5 & 6 emission standards and are continually tracked via GPS.
Our certification under ISO 14001 reflects our commitment to running our operation in the most eco-friendly way possible, and helping our clients reduce their carbon footprint too.
We take our Corporate Social Responsibility (CSR) commitments very seriously. We continuously implement new features that help to combat climate change, and work towards operating as a completely carbon-neutral business.
At the end of 2014, we installed a solar-panel system at our Norwich plant, making it a carbon-neutral depot. The solar panels generate 150% of the power required by the facility, with any surplus electricity being fed back into the grid.
More and more businesses are aiming to reduce their carbon footprint or make aspects of their operations carbon-neutral. Using an eco-friendly confidential document destruction company can help reduce your own carbon footprint.
At Shred Station, we’re always working on new initiatives for eco-friendly confidential document destruction to help us become greener and more energy-efficient in our operations.
as part of our bespoke services for clients. So far in 2017, we’ve planted 4200 trees as part of our carbon-offsetting scheme. Once grown, they will absorb up to 201,600 pounds of carbon dioxide each year, helping to reduce the impact of carbon emissions and ultimately prevent global warming.
All our new trucks meet the latest Euro 6 emissions standard, and we’ve now replaced all our existing Euro 4 trucks with Euro 6. We already have one electric-powered shredding truck, and we’re looking at hydrogen and battery power for future vehicles.
So if environmental concerns are important for you when choosing suppliers, you can’t do much better than Shred Station when it comes to selecting a provider for eco-friendly confidential document destruction.
At Shred Station, we want to help you be a greener business. That’s why we take an eco-friendly approach to destroying confidential data and reducing your carbon footprint according to our own ISO 14001 Environmental Certification – as well as sharing knowledge about shredding, recycling & the environment.
