Founded in 1988 by Sally Williams, SJM Training was initially a trading name for her freelance IT work. As the client base expanded she put together a highly skilled team of professional IT training consultants, who all share the same ethos of delivering excellent customer service. As a result, a high percentage of our business is from repeat customers and referrals.
SJM Training has provided training and consultancy services for organisations ranging from individuals, small businesses and training companies to large corporations and government bodies.
We have extensive experience of managing IT Training services on a contract basis for large organisations. Equally, we are able to work in partnership with an individual or small business to offer flexible and focussed training to meet their needs.
Our clients come from a diverse range of backgrounds in the public and private sectors, from financial services to manufacturing companies. SJM Training was running training courses for Microsoft UK in the early 1990s so the core team of trainers became some of the earliest Microsoft Certified Trainers and subsequently Product Specialists.

We offer training on business applications, such as Microsoft Office Excel, Word, PowerPoint and Outlook, covering features ranging all the way from absolute beginners through to expert and specialist. In addition, we offer bespoke system course design and delivery.
We have been writing programming code in spreadsheets and word processors since the facility became available in the 1980s. Since then, SJM Training has helped many clients by producing a customised solution for them – ranging from a simple set-up of a spreadsheet or document template through to a fully automated system.
In Excel, you can facilitate the production of Management Information (MI) reports, avoiding repetitive actions on a daily, weekly or monthly basis. In Word, long contractual documents can be created quickly and accurately from choices made in a custom form.
We offer training on business applications, such as Microsoft Office Excel, Word, PowerPoint and Outlook, ranging from introduction level through to advanced levels. We design and deliver courses on bespoke IT systems, incorporating business processes. We develop custom macro solutions written in Excel VBA and Word VBA.
