Cable Guys was started in February 2004, the brainchild of Leo Walton and Lee Spicknell, both graduates from Nottingham University’s Electrical Engineering Department. The aim was to provide affordable network installations for student properties, homeowners and commercial properties.
With an already impressive reputation for their quality and service these new services were quickly adopted by their existing customers and word about Cable Guys spread even further.
Cable Guys believe that the best way to prove their quality and service are through industry accreditation so they quickly contacted the Confederation of Aerial Industries and soon they were accredited members able to prominently display the CAI logo.
With CAI accreditation Cable Guys were able to move with confidence into the domestic aerial and satellite market but they also found themselves requiring electrical installation services.
Shortly after this Lee Spicknell started a course that was to enable Cable Guys to design, install and commission communal aerial and satellite systems, also known as IRS or Integrated Reception Systems, from early 2008.
Fast forward to today and Cable Guys have gone from two guys working out of a spare room at Leo Walton’s house to having a workshop unit in a business centre with 7 employees.
Constantly looking to innovate and offer the complete service they now offer a range of audio/video installations – from hanging a TV to installing a HDTV distribution system, all with the same impeccable Cable Guys quality and level of service.
I am a private landlord with a portfolio of very upmarket homes for students in the very best of locations in Loughborough. Over last summer The Cable Guys upgraded all my properties with digital TV aerials and installed a system for distributing both digital and terrestrial TV signals to every room in each property. The work was carried out with efficiency and enthusiasm and any problems encountered were met with a swift solution. I’d be happy to recommend The Cable Guys for any such installation.
