CDL Southwest Ltd was founded in 2005 by Managing Director Paul Turner. His vision was to become one of North Devon’s most respected, trusted and leading construction companies with focus on client satisfaction, quality of work and the delivery of projects on time and to budget. Based in Barnstaple on the Roundswell Business Park the company is ideally placed to serve North Devon and surrounding areas.
As a result CDL has grown steadily to become one of the South West’s leading companies with 4 primary divisions (Construction, Bespoke joinery, Painting & Decorating, Commercial Tiling). These divisions work individually as their own companies, however if the need arises they will co-ordinate to provide an all-in one service.
The company has a direct workforce of approximately 20 experienced employees who are continuously trained. In addition to our own workforce we have the benefit of the services of many reliable specialist sub-contractors, who we have engaged over many years and who can cover a wide variety of works. As a whole the company holds a wealth of experience and knowledge, backed by skilled tradespersons and fully qualified CITB site management teams. Our accreditations provide our clients with the peace of mind that we have the capability of carrying out any proposed works and the financial stability to see the project through to completion. Some of our accreditations include Exor and ACDC achieving gold status, as well as members of Constructionline, The British Woodworking Federation and The Tile Association.
In April 2012, the company continued to show steady growth and therefore decided to acquire a local building company Thatcher & Pilbrow to enable it to expand its current operations. Thatcher & Pilbrow had been serving North Devon for over 43 years with an enviable reputation for superior quality and service. This acquisition, which includes the employment of the skilled workforce of Thatcher & Pilbrow, means that CDL are now one of the largest and most able companies of its kind in North Devon.
