ABOUT PHOTOSYMBOLS LIMITED
Photosymbols is run by Pete Le Grys and Karl Seymour. We are based in Bristol (UK) and have been making information easier to understand for over 20 years. We are also 50% owned and run by disabled people.
We set up Photosymbols Ltd in 2003 to begin work on a full colour set of pictures that could be used by people making Easy Read.
A year later we launched the first version of Photosymbols with 1000 pictures on 6 compact discs. Since then we have steadily updated Photosymbols with new features including moving the photo library to an online cloud giving instant access to the very newest photos and templates.
This year we finally say goodbye to the USB version of Photosymbols to concentrate on bringing you more of what you want - new photos and templates.
Photosymbols is a unique photo library for everyone making Easy Read information. Our symbols are based on photos so they're colourful and easy to recognise. The main characters are acted by models with learning disabilities.
Templates help you make great looking Easy Read, with layouts for booklets, questionnaires, newsletters, posters, meeting information and more.
Photosymbols now have transparent backgrounds so you don’t have a white box around the picture. Copy and Paste them onto colour backgrounds or overlap pictures to make your own combinations. They’re also available in high resolution.
