ABOUT DAVY'S SPORTING CLUB LIMITED
‘Our mission is to provide a service for the local community through participation in sport and leisure activities’
The club dates back to the 1960’s, originally built by the now, Davy Markham Engineering Complex for its workers, over 2500 of them. It was a thriving company and so was the club, hosting regular evenings of entertainment, stage pantomimes, fundraising events, and of course it held many sporting events and competitions. The club was sold on by the company back in 1991 and is now a not-for-profit Limited company.
We are now in our 25
year of business as Davy’s Sporting Club Ltd, providing a service for the local community through sport and leisure activities. The club still has many of the original features from the 1960’s, most striking is our beautiful wooden, spiral staircase at heart of the club. There are of course many modern additions to the facilities, including an easy access ramp and lift to all floors, a 3G Astroturf Pitch and most recently the latest LED lighting in the main areas.
We are situated 15mins a taxi from Sheffield Train Station and about a 20-30mins walk from Manor Top, which has links to the city’s tram network. If your preferred method is your bike then we have a bike rack that it can be secured to.
