In 1986, Aled James and Ian Davies, both self-employed builders at the time, established Adeiladwyr Ffosaron Builders. With the business growing, covering a larger area and employing more people, Aled and Ian had a solid and reputable company which became Cartrefi Ffosaron Homes Ltd in 2002.
Aled and Ian started out with a focus on carpentry which grew into a varied range of building skills when they started their own construction business. In a time when timber frame construction was becoming increasingly popular Aled and Ian built up skill and understanding of the methods, specializing in this type of construction.
This earned Ffosaron the Building Excellence Award for a new dwelling built in Whitland, Carmarthenshire, being “highly commended” by the local building authority. Also, Ffosaron's business premises near Newcastle Emlyn won the 2007 Building Award Carmarthenshire for Industrial Units.
At Ffosaron, we are aware that construction methods continuously move forward especially with a view to energy efficiency and we are keen to incorporate advanced technology for the environmentally friendly generating and preserving of energy.
Since 2008 Cartrefi Ffosaron Homes Ltd have been in the Local Authority Building Control Partnership Scheme (LABC) with Carmarthenshire County Council.
We realise how important health and safety are, especially in a construction environment. Aled and Ian regularly attend courses for health and safety training under the Site Management Safety Training Scheme by the Construction Industry Training Board to keep up to date with regulations and procedures. Our employees receive health and safety training and we ensure that they have the right equipment for the right job. To make sure that we are always up to date with the latest regulations, we use the services of an independent H & S consultancy firm.
