Vanguard VML Group is an established and experienced leading specialist in heavy machinery moving. We operate throughout the UK and worldwide working with multinationals as well as local businesses. Our services cover all aspects of plant and machinery transportation including relocation, decommissioning, installation, supporting services and full project management.
We work across many industry sectors including food & beverage production, automotive assembly, aerospace, paper & packaging, pharmaceuticals, fabrication & plastics, metals & materials manufacturing. These industries have exacting requirements and some with particularly specialised considerations for their machine moving or factory relocations.
The Vanguard name has been synonymous with heavy lifting and machinery installation since 1964. The current Vanguard VML Group was founded in 2001 to serve the local and national markets with a highly-skilled, technical and responsive approach to machine moving projects. Expansion in the UK and a growth in operations followed with the opening of sites well-placed to serve the Midlands, the North and Scotland, Wales, the M4 corridor and the West Country. Now with five depots across the UK, we aim to provide this high level of support and customer service to national clients and international projects.
We are known in the industry for our attitude towards complex projects and seemingly impossible problems. When we began as a specialist machine mover, we embraced these challenges and applied our core values to each project that we undertook: Skilled and careful project coordination, attention to detail, strict control from start to finish and visibility throughout. These core values are still present today and applied to each project. Global relocations or local "lift and shift" receive the same level of attention.
Alun oversees the activities from ground level to strategic forecasting. Originally from an electrical engineering background before moving into machinery logistics, his combined business and technical skills see him involved in many areas, on site visits with depot teams, meeting customers and working closely with the sales and finance departments. He is committed to customer service at every phase.
Within his position as assistant managing director, Mark is also responsible for northern operations and the pipework division. He has a wealth of experience in providing pipework as a deliverable to production and manufacturing facilities. He ran his own pipework installation and fabrication company before moving into senior management positions in the machine moving industry.
