Welcome to Little Acorns Day Nursery Hull

Little Acorns is a privately-owned day nursery established in 2001. The nursery is not part of a chain which allows the owners Christine and Malcolm to put all their time and resources into making Little Acorns the perfect choice for you and your child.

Our toddlers turned their role play into a shop. The children really enjoyed buying and selling food with their new till. They ‘wrote’ shopping lists and decided to take a walk to the shops to purchase their food. We were very pleased with the healthy choices the children made. This was then put into their toy shop for them to play with but some was kept aside so the children could do some food tasting. Yummy!

Week commencing the 16th October we will be celebrating Diwali This is the Hindu festival of lights. We will be looking at light and shadows. We will also copy some traditions such as mixing rice and colourful powder paints (very messy) and making sweet treats and decorating hand prints. All children will be given a candle to burn at home with their children to celebrate (please use caution with your children).

27th October we will be celebrating Halloween. Please bring your child in fancy dress. If they choose not to come as a pumpkin, witch or skeleton then they can come as a superhero or just as themselves. We will be making buns and cakes to sell as this day will also be a fundraiser for ‘Crakerjacks’.
