ABOUT MARPAK EXTRUSIONS LIMITED

Market leaders in the manufacture of premium grade extruded polythene products

“Marpak Extrusions aims to be the first choice in flexible plastic packaging in both UK & European markets. This will be achieved by maintaining strong relationships with clients and suppliers, providing optimum service levels and high-quality products whilst also exercising due diligence towards health and safety and a conscious corporate social responsibility.”

Our specialities are the development and application of premium-grade polythene film for the pallet protection market, with particular emphasis within the glass industry. As a growing company, we place a large emphasis on research and development to ensure that we are offering our customers the highest standards of quality and service.

As a key investor in people, we strive to develop our staff and have a continued plan for training and development within the company. We also drive continued development within our company procedures and standards, for which we hold global standard accreditations.

We're europe’s first choice for flexible packaging solutions

Our Company

We have two operating sites in Leeds that service both domestic and European markets. A recent multi-million pound investment into our South Leeds manufacturing site has provided us with three new extrusion lines and an excellent platform for expansion. The three sites focus on the manufacturing and development of heat shrink film, pallet covers, and pallet hoods, as well as stretch-capable, machine-automated polythene film. A commitment to customer focus and forging strong relationships with clients is paramount to us as a business. If you would like one of our consultants to visit your site and make any professional recommendations, we will gladly do so. We offer bespoke polythene solutions for all your packaging needs. For custom packaging machinery and equipment, see our sister company,

Our sister company Talos Packaging Systems specialises in providing custom end of line packaging equipment and machinery solutions to businesses across the UK and Europe. They operates as a turnkey solutions business, providing clients with a range of options, from the commissioning of advanced packaging systems to the sourcing and installation of used packaging machinery. By utilising key partnerships with technical suppliers, engineers, leading manufacturers and our trusted finance supplier, Talos Packaging Systems support small-scale sales and purchase hire to full project management, providing unbeatable options for flexible financial packages and ongoing aftercare.

With over 30 years of experience in industrial packaging, Talos Packaging Systems has become one of the UK’s leading providers of packaging solutions for industrial packaging companies.

Talos Packaging Systems provide state-of-the-art packaging machinery based on preliminary consultancy services, matching end-of-line machine brands to specific machinery and equipment. We work with a number of leading brands, including Aetna, Lachenmeier, Metral, Beumer, MSK, and Mullers.

Talos Packaging Systems are equipped to manage large-scale relocation projects, including transporting industrial equipment, single machines, and entire production lines. We provide expert mechanical and electrical engineers who oversee the complete process, and continue to provide aftercare after commissioning of the machinery.

They also specialise in sourcing end-of-line packaging machinery and equipment for re-sale and purchase hire. This includes an overhaul service, re-conditioning used machinery that can be dismantled, transported, installed, and commissioned.

By maintaining a partnership with trusted finance provider NGI Finance, Talos Packaging Systems are able to provide flexible financing solutions for industrial machinery and equipment.

Over the past few years there has been significant investment across our operating sites. We now boast two state of the art film extrusion and conversion facilities. We now have a production capacity of 18,000 tonnes across nine extrusion lines. We also have four conversion machines that compliment our extrusion lines.

In addition to this, we are currently involved in a multi-million pound investment that will allow for significantly increased manufacturing capacity, providing an excellent platform for growth within domestic and foreign markets as well as diversification into new markets.

We are a certified ISO 9001:2008 company that focuses on the quality management systems for development, manufacturing, and conversion of polythene.

We also hold the BRC Global Standard for Packaging and Packaging Materials, highlighting our continued investment in our manufacturing process as well as the quality of all our products and operating procedures.

In addition to our accreditations, we are committed members of the trade association PAFA and have a conscious corporate social responsibility towards health and safety and the environment.

We take our responsibilities as a manufacturer very seriously. As such, we have a comprehensive structure to sustainability. We are responsible for our people. We have comprehensive company health and safety, protecting the health of our employees and optimising working conditions. We engage our employees in training and development.

We take our environmental responsibilities very seriously. Not only do we offer Marpak Green but we also proactively offer down-gauging and weight reduction, which in turn protects natural resources, and offers direct reduction in CO2 emissions during production and further reductions during transport. We also offer life cycle assessments to our customers.

We helped a large packaging supplier make substantial cost savings through using Total’s advanced metallocene blend. This film is just as strong as the previously used material with the same mechanical properties, but thinner. By using this material we were able to down-gauge it’s film to 80mu and therefore make huge cost savings across all their sites.
