Our Company
Crossfield Consulting was formed in 1997 to offer consulting services on all aspects of ground engineering, including the assessment and remediation of contaminated land.
We offer a combined approach to geotechnical and geoenvironmental site assessment and this helps us provide the most thorough and cost-effective service for our clients. This can result in sites that have previously been considered economically unviable becoming profitable development opportunities.
Crossfield Consulting aim to identify economical solutions to ground-related problems and this is achieved by adopting an integrated approach to the process of site investigations, design and on-site validation of construction.

Robert liaises with clients and manages projects – preparing proposals and designing the site investigations that form the basis of risk assessments and construction design. He also provides technical advice regarding land acquisition.
He is responsible for providing advice at pre-contract/tender stage, with particular emphasis on identifying alternative and value-engineering solutions and potential ground-related risks and solutions to design and build contractors. Ian also provides advice and liaises with the clients during the construction and post-construction stages.
We are currently reviewing our staffing requirements but we are always interested in receiving details of graduates and accept graduate CVs throughout the year.
To find out more about a career with Crossfield Consulting,
Numerous studies have shown that the major risks to any development are ground related and these can manifest themselves in many ways – increased costs, time delays and even long term liabilities. It is important to address these potential problems as soon as possible, preferably prior to site acquisition. By appointing a specialist, such as Crossfield Consulting, at an early stage of any development project, the risks may be identified, assessed and costed by means of an appropriate site investigation. The importance of a desk study cannot be over emphasised, as it provides the basic data for the assessment of potential contamination and allows us to identify foundation options and the design of the ground investigation. The ground investigation
We are able to offer all aspects of site investigations from desk studies through to design and supervision of the fieldwork and subsequent monitoring.
Crossfield Consulting has a track record of identifying pragmatic remedial works and engineering solutions that have permitted economical development to take place on sites previously blighted and unviable.
It is important that the detailed design of remediation and engineering works are integrated to provide the most economical and practical solutions that will overcome ground-related constraints and mitigate potential liabilities.
We are experienced at setting up monitoring systems and/or on-site testing regimes that have minimal impact on the construction programme, yet provide relevant data that satisfy the requirements of third parties and demonstrate compliance with the acceptability criteria established at the design phase.
From its inception, Crossfield Consulting has developed its own quality assurance system and all projects are managed within this system.
