The Co Tops journey began back in 1995 and was formed as a result of a management buyout of the very well established ‘Cut and Edged’ UK worktop division of Blanco GmbH. Around this time the new business was moved from our former factory situated in North London to a temporary home in Dunstable within the Bedford lorry factory known as AWD.
This site was our home for 7 years whilst we saved up the money to purchase our own land in late 2002. In May 2003 we designed and had built exclusively for the company’s needs, a brand new 18,000 square foot factory and relocated to the superb premises we have today.
Business grew and by 2005 we were already planning to build a large 10,000 square feet extension on to our existing premises, Unit 6 Foster Avenue. This was designed to make high density stocking facilities for 4100mm boards that would be capable of holding over 8000 worktops in dry insulated protection ensuring quality products are kept to the highest standards available and in turn increasing our stock offering to over 10,000 boards.
As you can see, the team know a thing or two about worktops. Throughout the staff who deliver extensive years of valuable industry experience between them, it’s the Managing Director who has engineered the business by utilising over 40 years of industry expertise. His clear motivated vision to drive the company forward and be the best we can be is valued by the team enormously.
