Parallel is a dynamic company staffed by an experienced team. Formed in 2012 it is part of Fidelius, a diversified financial services group providing a range of services and benefits to private investors, companies, charitable institutions, and professional partners.
From our base in the Georgian city of Bath Parallel provides investment management to investors nationwide.

Jim has over 30 years experience in financial services in both customer-facing and business management roles. Jim was previously CEO of Chartwell Group, with over £1 billion of client assets under management, and was responsible for establishing a range of risk rated model portfolios as well as the Chartwell OEIC.
A former managing director in the Global Equities Division at Nomura, Matthew has over 20 years’ experience in portfolio and risk management in Securities and Derivative products. Matthew has been involved with Parallel from its creation in 2011 and is a key member of both the Asset Allocation and Investment Committees.
After three years’ experience in the client services administration team with Novia Financial plc, an investment trading platform provider, Laura joined Parallel in 2013 as an Investment Administrator.
Jim’s 30 years’ experience in financial services began with a short period in the life assurance sector followed by the development of a number of highly successful independent financial planning businesses. The most notable was the Chartwell Group, of which Jim was CEO, and whose successes included the launch of the Chartwell OEIC together with the establishment of a range of discretionary risk-rated model portfolios adopting multi-asset investment strategies. Following the acquisition of Chartwell by Close Brothers Asset Management in 2010 Jim became CEO of the Fidelius Group and successfully launched Parallel Investment Management in 2011.

By appointing a Discretionary Investment Manager you delegate to us your authority to act with discretion in making all of the day to day investment decisions. This creates efficiencies in both the timing of investment decisions and the volume of paperwork generated. However, you retain control by setting appropriate investment objectives and level of risk to achieve your financial needs and aspirations. Furthermore, our reporting ensures that you are kept up to date with how your capital is performing relative to benchmarks and, with your financial planner’s input, your personal goals.
