ABOUT PERFORMANCE THROUGH PEOPLE LIMITED

Performance Through People have been providing high quality training to companies throughout the Midlands for over forty years. We have a strong track record of working with employers across a range of industries and were graded as ‘Outstanding’ by Ofsted for our partnership engagement.

Performance Through People offer a wide range of services including:

“You have made a substantial investment in learning resources by establishing a good-quality engineering workshop. Learners learn using industry-standard CNC machines and develop high-end engineering skills such as in CAD/CAM that are valued by businesses.”

“Programmes match the needs of the learners and employers exceptionally well. Staff go ‘the extra mile’ to understand the business of the employers and update their professional knowledge and skills, so that they can customise the apprenticeship frameworks.”

“With its origins in the chambers of commerce, PTP is an organisation that is well known to local employers. Managers keep a very close eye on developments in the locality and provide positive solutions to employers’ problems and needs. Staff listen to employers and learners keenly, and make improvements to the training quickly.”

“A dedicated business development team works very closely with a broad range of employers to develop apprenticeships and sector-based work academies (SBWA), supplying well-trained candidates for their business. For example, leaders and managers have enabled unemployed adults with significant personal barriers to secure jobs.”

“You have maintained the high levels of achievement of apprenticeship frameworks by learners in spite of a rapid increase in learner numbers to around 1,485 in the current year. The number of 16–18-year-old apprentices has doubled – a tribute to the success of the ‘search and select’ team in forming strategic alliances with schools. You have worked very closely with schools to promote apprenticeships, often making them aware of how apprenticeship training contributes to school performance tables. As a result, a much higher number of school-leavers are choosing to take up an apprenticeship.”

“Staff gain good levels of knowledge on safeguarding matters through attending thought-provoking training on an ongoing basis. Designated officers have established productive relationships with local authorities and services, including the local police forces. They use these strong links to seek advice and guidance, access training and make referrals.”

January the annual Performance Through People Achievement Awards took place at The Village Hotel in Walsall. It was an evening of celebration to recognise the hard work and commitment of the company’s learners, partners and staff.

During the ceremony all the finalists were called to the stage to receive their certificates and a round of applause from the audience, before the winners were announced and presented with glass trophies. Carolyn Stokes, Operations Director and Gill Durkin, Business Development Director, shared the reasons why each person was nominated. They explained that this year had seen a record number of nominations and some very difficult judging decisions, meaning that everyone in attendance was already a winner just by having been shortlisted as a finalist.

– Susan Harper, who completed a higher apprenticeship in business administration while working at Walsall Council.

The ceremony then moved on to the category for employers, recognising the importance of the support companies and their management teams offer to apprentices. To acknowledge the different challenges faced by companies of different sizes there were two winners, Co-operative Travel (Bilston) representing the larger businesses PTP work with and Steel Processing (Midlands) Ltd representing small and medium employers.

“It’s evenings like tonight that really make you feel you are making a difference in people’s lives. Every apprentice nominated tonight is employed, making a difference to the business they work in and continuing to learn new skills every day as well working towards a relevant qualification. I’m immensely proud of our staff and the positive impact they are having on the business community.”

As Managing Director, Rob Colbourne is responsible for the overall management of Performance Through People, with over 100 staff working from five locations and up to 2,000 clients working with us at any one time. The majority of PTP’s delivery is Midlands based with training delivered throughout the UK. He chairs a number of strategic groups and sits on Boards such as LEP, (Education & Skills) AELP, WorldSkills and is an Apprenticeship Ambassador.

I am delighted to welcome you to Performance Through People’s website and hope you find it useful and informative. We always aim to be within easy reach, making sure our customers get the training solutions they require quickly and easily.

In a world that is becoming more and more knowledge based, education and skills are of paramount importance in terms of individual progression and the success of employers. As a provider of training solutions, PTP can act as a single point of contact for our customers offering a “one stop shop” service providing relevant training and staff development to meet the needs of both employee and employer. The achievement of our customers and the excellent support and guidance given by this organisation are key objectives for both myself and my fellow Directors.

I hope our website inspires you to explore new directions, courses or training programmes and I would ask you to contact any of our business development team via our web-site or by calling 03332 408302 for more information.

Your success is our business.

PTP works to ensure that everyone has a fair and equal opportunity at having access to training. The work we do with the BME community ensures that noone is excluded and that they have the same opportunities as everyone else in the community. The accreditation of matrix recognises how PTP supports the local community by offering highly effective information, advice and guidance using the matrix standard quality framework. The service helps individuals to make informed choices about their career, learning, work and life goals.
