After his training with the Revenue, Glen left to join the profession, where he worked for various Top 10 and Top 20 City Firms. He also took his final tax examinations and qualified as a Chartered Tax Advisor (CTA). He gained substantial experience across a wide range of taxation covering Personal Tax, Capital gains tax, Inheritance tax, Corporation Tax, International Tax and UK and Overseas Trusts. The vast proportion of his tax experience was gained with Crowe Clark Whitehill, a Top Ten Firm, who he was with for 17 and a half years. Prior to that he was at Baker Tilly for six and a half years.
Glen uses his vast experience and professional expertise to advise a variety of clients and businesses, from a small sole trader with £10,000 turnover to a medium sized technology company employing 35 employees and a firm of builders with a turnover exceeding £1 million.
Gareth started his career with KPMG, a Big 4 global accountancy firm, based in London. Within the first 3 years at KPMG, Gareth completed his accountancy examinations qualifying as a Chartered Accountant (ACA). During this time, Gareth managed audit engagements within the investment management and private equity industry, providing accounting advice, valuation and assurance reviews. As well as developing accounting expertise, Gareth acquired practical experience within both the tax and corporate finance functions; most notably, providing buy-side advice on a successful €1 billion acquisition from a well-known UK bank.
After 4 years running the numbers, Gareth moved into the Management Consulting function to advise UK-based companies and FTSE 100s on the efficient operations of a Finance function – promoted to Manager in this team in August 2015. Throughout his two years at a FTSE 20 FMCG, Gareth advised on finance function design, selecting and contracting with outsource providers, managing transitions and holding third parties to account. His experience within this team also extends to business case development, financial planning and management reporting.
Gareth brings a wide range of financial knowledge and experience to advise on both tax and accounting matters and resolve business issues. Gareth has a professional, pragmatic and client-focused approach and his main aim is to pro-actively deal with issues and identify opportunities for his clients.
