Mekufa UK is an internationally renowned specialist in casting thermo-hardening plastics/resins, producing bushings and insulators for the switchgear and transformer industry. The company has built up an excellent reputation in this demanding market on the basis of more than 50 years experience, formerly under the name of Permali Insulators Ltd.
Mekufa UK produces high quality products primarily for electrical distribution industry. We are customer-focussed and able to meet our customers requirements by using different manufacturing techniques. Mekufa UK has a range of material formulations and can also tailor formulations to customer product specification. In addition to this we produce SRBP bushings, encapsulated components and many other manufacturing processes.
Mekufa customer’s benefit from our expertise and experience at all stages. We carefully review our customer’s product designs and using our CAD facility make suggestions for improvements where appropriate. Also by modifying the ingredients of the resin formulation, certain product properties can be enhanced enabling us to use the polymer most appropriate for the product.

Having made thousands of insulation products and bushings for electrical distribution market we have many years of experience in all aspects of casting resin by traditional methods such as vacuum casting to more extensive methods like APG. The process can also be applied to filtration, sealing and electromotor manufacturing to mention but a few.
Encapsulation in a thermoset resin can dramatically improve the performance and reliability of electrical and electronic devices. Effective encapsulation requires the correct choice of material from the thousands available combined with the highest standards of production control. Mekufa UK have extensive experience in all areas of encapsulation and are suppliers to a diverse range of industries. Castings range from a few grams to over 30 Kg typically in Epoxy, Urethane or Silicone materials.
