trained as a draughtsman in a firm of Chartered Surveyors for two years gaining experience with all forms of construction during extensive rebuilding of client’s properties following the 1987 storms, before graduating from Liverpool John Moores University in 1993 and later qualifying as a member of the RICS in 1998. Post qualification, Ashley worked in London for a large firm of Chartered Surveyors largely dealing with historic buildings such as Fishmongers’ Hall and the Livery Company’s other properties, later moving to work on the Royal Pavilion and Brighton Museum and other historic buildings within the Brighton & Hove City Estate. He has enjoyed working on period house refurbishment and adaptation, an area where he has particular expertise.

He is well respected for his knowledge of historical buildings and his sympathetic approach to restoration. He has extensive experience in Project Management and analysis of building defects. The principal has established long term professional relationships with Local Authority Planning Officers with obvious benefits to the Company’s clients.
