Chapter House Childcare Associates Limited was established in 2012 by Eileen Grimes and carries out consultancy and inspection work across a number of providers and age groups. These include working with the Early Years sector, Social Care providers and Boarding Schools.
Eileen worked within the Early Years sector for a number of years before undertaking varies inspection roles within the local authority, transferring to Ofsted and then ultimately to an Independent Inspection Provider. She currently undertakes inspections within the Early Years sector, Children’s Centres and Boarding schools. Eileen holds a BA Hons degree in early Childhood Studies from Teesside University which she completed whilst working full time, a culmination of her dedication to improving the quality and standards of childcare provision. Eileen lives in Durham City with her husband.
Prior to establishing the company Eileen served as a councillor on Durham City Council, holding various positions including serving as the Mayor of Durham in 2002/2003 when she worked with various groups within Durham City and the wider community.
Chapter House Childcare Associates Limited offer an extensive consultancy and training service and has a range of highly skilled and experience consultants with a wealth of experience in all fields and have experience in the inspection field. All personnel hold current DBS checks which are available for inspection before staff access your premises.
Eileen understands the demands of running a business, striving for high quality whilst also ensuring financial stability. Eileen was a partner in a successful business for a number of years, before forming Chapter House Childcare Associates Limited herself.
For the past 14 years Leonard has worked for a number of regulatory bodies including Durham County Council Regulatory and Inspection Team, National Care Standards Commission, The Commission for Social Care Inspection and latterly Ofsted.

An evaluation of your independent Regulation 33 reports and the Regulation 34 reports can be provided and advice given on how these can be used to your benefit in the inspection process. This would be linked with previous Ofsted reports and your annual development plan. An analysis of all the home’s self-evaluation documentation can be completed and reported on to the appropriate level of management.
Support from Chapter House Childcare can be provided in a variety of different ways.
Discussions will take account of the core content of the inspection framework and highlight the management’s roles and responsibilities. The home’s documentation can be reviewed and evaluated and reported on to the senior management team of the home or company.
Chapter House Childcare can provide training to improve the skills of management to observe staff while working with young people thereby enabling the management team to provide support for staff in their professional development.
Training can be provided by Chapter House Childcare to improve the skills of management to observe and appraise staff while working with boarding pupils to enable the school’s management team to deliver the right levels of support for staff in their professional development. This leads to both management and staff having a clearer understanding of what good, or outstanding, care practise is. The school’s documentation in regard to staff’s professional development, appraisal and practise can also be reviewed and reported on to the senior management team to assist them in developing the quality of care offered by staff to residential and boarding pupils.
