Company Director

Joe has been in the Materials Testing business for over 35 years as a director of companies involved in the design ,development and manufacture of equipment for the civil engineering testing industry and more recently as head of Mattest Southern Ltd.

Mattest was originally started in 2005 as the company Asphalt Testing Ltd ( changed name in 2011 to become a member of the Mattest network) and has grown from 1 member of staff( Joe!) to 60 at present and growing.

We are supported by Mattest Southern to assist us in delivering accurate field and lab data on our surfacing projects.

FM Conway have used Mattest southern as they offer a consistently prompt and flexible service, which has meant that we can fulfil works even with the tightest programme deadlines. We will continue to use them with the highest confidence in the future as they report all results in an agreed timescale.

We are always looking for new challenges and interesting partners. Also, we love to say hello.

We are able to offer a number of High speed site surveys in partnership with our sister company Highway Data Systems

MATtest Southern is at the forefront of Civil Engineering Materials Testing offering the most up to date methods for site and laboratory testing of Asphalt, Soils and Concrete.

We employ electronic data gathering wherever possible and are constantly investing in the latest technology to ensure our clients are provided with accurate clear test reports as quickly as possible. On Airfield projects we commit to provide site and lab reports within 4 hours and for road maintenance we deliver reports within a maximum of 24 hours.
